Chauncey Nuñez is a right-handed pitcher from Doral Academy in Miami, so he was teammates with 29th-round pick Andres Santana. He was not committed to any school.
Baseball America Draft Database says Nathan Perry (5) signed for $230,000. Jake Adams signed for $210,000. Looks like Bukauskas will be getting his money and then some.
Papierski has looked solid behind the plate and has shown some surprising pop (esp. oppo) so far in the college playoffs. I like him.
So it looks like Bukauskas is the big domino; everybody else is pretty much accounted for: Martin will likely sign soon now that he's out of the CWS. Papierski is in the CWS. Serrano is going to renegotiate after pitching in the Cape Cod League. Costes is also playing in the Cape and his performance will probably have a big impact on his decision. Santana, Breaux, and Farrell I would guess will all go back to school, but you never know. I don't think Bukauskas will actually get that much over slot. I think they're saving some money to try to get Serrano. Costes may also require more than slot.
Don't think I've ever seen this before. 13 games, 8-0, 1.48 ERA, 60.2 IP, 33 H, 14 R (10 ER), 25 BB, 77 K, 0.96 WHIP
Papierski with two bombs on the day! One from each side. The Yasmani Grandal comparisons looking solid so far. Loved the pick
Papierski looks like a great pick in the 9th round. Dude has some pop. Btw is there no CWS thread? Been looking for it but disappointed to not find it. Gotta rep' my Tigers.
