Didn't know Daryl's brother's Darnell was running the draft room! ;)

43+45 obviously isn't getting you up so ... looking for a lottery pick for one of his players.

It's interesting, but Daryl tries to move into the lottery every year without fail.

Exactly. Love the news but "rockets trying to move up" and "rockets trying to sign random star" is an every year thing.

Not knocking Morey, I love the aggression

I mean, I get the idea of assessing market value, but what would he do with it? I could see someone else wanting it, but if they did, why not get the pick before the rockets do?

Every year Daryl tries to move into the lottery.

Every year Daryl tries to sign a top free agent.

80% of the time fans get upset when the Anthony's and Aldridge's choose to go elsewhere.

Daryl is doing the right thing trying to improve the team, but he cannot pull a rabbit out of his hat.

He tries without fail, 't'is true.

He might just make it there this year. Of course, I told myself that last year. And the year before. Hope is the last thing to die!

I think this is a potentially strong draft through like pick 8

Fultz, Lonzo, Tatum, Jackson, Fox, Smith, Isaac, Monk

    After that... ???

Guys, the tweet says "potentially trying"

It doesn't say that Morey "is trying"

Just like clockwork every summer. We just need a Sergio Lull post somewhere or maybe a Sergio Lull thread bump and the cycle will be completed.

It's more like trying to pull a chainsaw out of his butt. His job is incredibly difficult, and surrounded by failure and traps.

I don't get what scoring a pick in that range does, but if he has a plan for it maybe something will come of it.

I'm just guessing here, but I would bet the Rockets would want the pick to flip in a trade -- either to get a Paul George or someone else. Or perhaps they need the pick to move a contract. Now if they could get a Malik Monk, then maybe it's for them. But I'm speculating entirely.
