The White Houses' language here is key. They say "sources and methods were not discussed" which the WAPO story CLEARLY says "sources and methods were not discussed.

However that doesn't mean that it wasn't still classified because it is highly dangerous information (the codes) that the Russians could reverse engineer and do harm to our military and our allies in harms way.

This is also about ISIS intelligence in Syria. By all accounts we are at war with Russia when it comes to Assad and Syria who might as well be the Russians themselves.

If you think this is not a big deal than you are an idiot.

Fox News isn't covering this at the moment, I know because I just checked, so I understand how you may not think that this is a big deal.

 

I'm not saying that is has to be true. I will say that the WP takes its credibility extremely seriously for a variety of reasons.


It seems like one of the biggest risks here is it a US operative has already been killed bc this info reached ISIS. Politics aside, really hope that isn't the case. Getting someone into ISIS must have been very hard.

McMaster was defending that Trump did not give up "the source of the highly classified info",
which was not what WaPo had reported.
