One thing I really like is the new center-field camera angle. You can really see balls and strikes on TV better than the standard 'down and to the right' angle.
Question for anyone that's been to the games this year. The new section where TORCHYS and other bars are at.. Do you have to have a ticket to stay in that section ? How does it work? I may slide thru for a few innings on Thursday afternoon since I'm in downtown. I was going to grab the cheapest ticket and basically go to eat / etc.
Nope - anyone is free to go up there. There is some standing room only space up there with tables that anyone can visit (can't really see though) as well as the patios with the tables which you do need a ticket for.
Torchy's is definitely more expensive. I believe it's right around $6 for a taco. They offer I think their four most popular tacos.
I might have misread but I think I saw several at $8 each taco. In fact at first I thought it was a good deal thinking you got 2 or 3 per order. Once I realized that wasn't the case I passed. Shake Shack you could get a double burger and fries for under the price of two tacos.
shake shack was daaaaaaamn good.... love me their burgers and the price seemed about on par with their regular locations.
I sat along the first baseline past the base, the new look outfield made the park look new. I thoroughly enjoy the look, they did a great job.
I think Springer's HR is the only ball that has been visibly effected by the new dimensions, probably would have been a 3B last year.
I dunno... measured at 444, hit near the H on the batters eye while still going on a slightly upward trajectory.... I think it gets out.
I ended up with chicken tacos from one of the taquerias. 3 for $10 with all the cilantro and onions you want.
I read some internet writeup of the best new foods around the majors. They spotlighted the fried chicken with mashed potatoes in a waffle cone for MMP.
They were selling that at the same place I got the tacos. Looked delicious except for the mashed potatoes.
a concept like 100% tacquito would do gangbusters at the juice box... street style tacos and tortas, agua frescas, mexican beer, salsa bar. git er done maury!
