Giants placed LHP Madison Bumgarner on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to April 19, with bruised ribs and a Grade 1-2 strain of his left shoulder AC joint. Bumgarner suffered the injuries during a dirt bike accident on Thursday. Seriously. He will be re-evaluated next week, but FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal hears that the left-hander is expected to be sidelined for 6-8 weeks. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/d...ers-left-shoulder-sends-him-to-disabled-list/
The SF Giants are a dumpster fire. This self-inflicted injury for MadBum is the strangest thing since Jeff Kent allegedly slid off his enormous truck and injured himself. So, no left fielder. No hitting in general. Lost their ace. And a city plastered with aggressive marketing like "Together, we are giant," including pictures of MadBum in the stretch, etc. LOL. Maybe I can score some cheap tix now.
Report: Group led by Derek Jeter and Jeb Bush win auction for Miami Marlins via Barry Jackson: There is agreement in principle, pending MLB approval & contract details.$1.3 billion price for team. I am told that Jeb Bush will be control person, though group has more than 5 investors. Jeter plans active role.
"Two amazingly overrated people are about to buy something that amazingly still exists" was my favorite satirical line about that.
The Reds would like to but can't. Vs Cincy: 6 G, 28 PA, 10 H, 8 HR, 13 RBI, 5 BB, 2 K, .455 / .571 / 1.545 / 2.117 He's killed the Cubs too in their 5 games. Only 1 solo bomb but 4 2B & 8 R, OPS 1.454 Remember when he was an Astro from September to December '13? Didn't think so. I didn't either until I just looked at his B-R page.
