This is encouraging for next year http://thebasketballchannel.net/kentucky-takes-the-mid-season-lead-in-recruiting/
As crazy as this is, we've moved up two spots since last week. And nobody right now wants to put Vanderbilt, Syracuse, or Wake Forest in. I can assure u that. We hold the truth over Rhode Island too. So me thinks there is a very slight window to get in with just 2 wins this weekend. Odds to make champ are at a slim 22%. but if we do, add in the fact that the NCAA committee will go into Sunday not knowing what will happen to us so we'd have a lot of mind bending momentum into the wee hours. Especially with a another visible win over ESPN's UConn on Friday and a ranked win on Saturday. Dare to dream... Last Four Byes Providence Marquette Vanderbilt USC Last Four In Syracuse Xavier Wake Forest Illinois State First Four Out Rhode Island Kansas State Illinois Iowa Next Four Out Houston California Indiana Georgia
ESPN just moved us into the first 4 out. We are literally moving up notch by notch by not playing, lol. ...and Iowa is in real trouble right now. If they lose we move up again.
If we win tomorrow we give ourselves a punchers chance the way things seem to be shaking out with some of the bubble teams. I think if we can pull an upset in the semis we are a lock.
Not all that surprising. bummer. Got zero from Meyer, Nkhali, and Knowles. I mean zero. Notta. Nothing. Dotson with a terrible game. Robinson Jr. showed the only real heart out there, but again, if he's taking 15 shots something is wrong as it's his job to get others shots. Onto the NIT.
NIT it is we just couldn't win games we needed to all year. It sucks that any team with quality bigs is a damn matchup nightmare for us year after year.
Shame. I love Sampson but he hasn't really accomplished much with the Coogs. If it's a recruiting issue, hopefully the Fertitta Center renovation + the Guy V. Lewis development facility will win some top players over.
I feel the exact same way. Sampson is NOT making headway in the Win and Loss Column. They should've hired Mike Davis at TSU. He is a better coach, a better recruiter and has better repore with the younger generation.
I'm not happy either. Sampson should have had us in the NCAA tournament by now. He's not getting the job done.
I don't see how he can be replaced. He turned the program around pretty quickly. But he does need to bring in some talent that can support the 2nd chance players we seem to be able to attract. It's like we have an entire team of really good gym rats, but no real basketball players.
