@WojVerticalNBA: RT @ShamsCharania: Former NBA center Larry Sanders and the Cleveland Cavaliers are in serious discussions toward a deal, league sources tell...
Its fair and all but damn, when is Cleveland ever gonna just " Go With What We Got!" ? Its almost embarrassing and pathetic.
Every single NBA team has had multiple chances over multiple years to either woo Sanders or sign him outright. It's homage to the respect LBJ commands in the locker room that he can potentially keep a guy in line that 29 other teams have decided wasn't worth the risk. That's respect. That's trust. That's earned. Assuming they sign him, it's pretty clear there is 1/450 NBA players with the clout to manage the risk such that it's commensurate with the reward. But hey, whiners gonna whine. Because, you know, it was just yesterday that Larry Sanders was putting his defensive stamp on games....well, yesterday circa 2013.
It's a sign of insecurity from the king that he is always pressing the brass to bring in anybody to help him.
Why do they need to go with what they got? Since when was getting good players on the minimum embarrassing and pathetic? Ask the Spurs if they ever felt embarrassing and pathetic when they keep adding guys like David West, Richardson and the 100 other vet min guys they had signed over the last 20 years. GSW had a championship core and they broke that up to add kevin Durant. Cavs have a chance to add Bogut and Sanders on the cheap and they shouldn't do that because...??? I swear Lebron haters have lost all rationality when it comes to hating on the guy.
Yeah because Kobe didn't whine to the Lakers when he ran Shaq put of town and he realized he couldn't hack it on his own. Oh wait, Kobe even threatened to sign with the Bulls or Clippers if the Lakers still sucked At least Lebron showed he can get his team to the finals on his own, did Kobe even get to the 2nd round when he didn't have Gasol or Shaq? Iirc the Lakers weren't even that bad, they had Odom who was an East Allstar and Bynum who was averaging a double double.
If Sanders can produce it would be gravy but if he signs, LeBron would've have gotten Derrick Williams, Deron Williams, Andrew Bogut and Larry Sanders for nearly nothing, no assets given up. LeBron is already a pretty crafty gm
