I've been to Boulder, Denver, Ft. Collins a number of times. Ft. Collins is really pretty nice. It'd certainly be a good place to settle. Close enough to Denver, but still a separate, smaller town. That said, I would expect over the next 20 years the whole Denver/Boulder/Ft.Collins triangle to get very busy in between. And Colorado Springs to the south as well. 25 from Colorado Springs to Denver already sucks.

If you wanted more isolation, a lot of the more Western Colorado towns are great, too. Steamboat, Telluride, Pagosa Springs, Durango are great.

Another thing great about Colorado is dogs LOVE it much better than Houston. Aside from the colder weather, which they prefer, there are no fleas and no mosquito problem (except like 10,000' elevation for some reason). My vet even says I don't need to give my dog heartworm medicine here.

That good to hear. As I have been browsing on Zillow looking at places for rent, almost all of the listings stated NO Pets. Kind of strange.
