Consider ALL stats and talent, not just HOU career because some ended sooner than others and some balled hard non-HOU...

    What says you?

    Earl
    Biggio
    Andre
    Foster
    Ryan
    Moses

Nice rankings, they mostly match so far...

My opinion is limited to ~1990, but considering stats, talks with elders, and explored knowledge....
    Moses
    Earl
    Biggio
    Andre
    Foster
    Ryan

I didn't include certain players because they're obviously better.

Moses and Earl were the most dominant forces. Earl's success lacks Biggio's awesomeness-longevity but Big's posteseason drops him behind Earl overall.

Nolan is before my time and is GREAT. Looking at stats, his biggest most glaring problem was walks. Great ERA, all-time beastly K numbers, but the 2.04 K-BB rate is very underwhelming and explains much of his overall lack of success and accalades.

Foster could do everything expect blaze with speed. Speed's pretty bad weakness for a RB, but Arian could EVERYTHING else at a HOF level. Vision, Catch, Block. He even did well after Kubiak and with a questionable o-line in '14. He's almost as smooth as Olajuwon with it too. Straight butter.

Dre's skills and numbers push him passed Arian eventhough I think Foster is a better talent.

Earl Ryan and Moses are all time greats. Would probably go Ryan over Earl with the nod to domination over an extended career. Moses doesn't get the recognition that he deserves so third. HoFer Biggio is clearly over Andre who is a probable HoFer and Foster is not.

    Ryan
    Earl
    Moses

    Biggio

    Andre

    Foster

Some of you are way overrating Nolan Ryan. It's a lot easier to rack up the strikeouts when you don't care if you walk anyone.

Nolan was a specimen no doubt. Doesn't he lead all-time in BA?

What percentage of his counts went full?

    Did he have more 0-3 and 1-3 's or 4-0 and 4-1 's ?

He's the all time leader in SOs and BBs. Second place in SOs has 85% of Ryan's total. Second place in BBs has 65%. Ryan walked guys all the time.

All time fewest hits per nine innings, spanning a never to be matched (anymore) 27 year career - Nolan Ryan

I've always thought that Nolan Ryan the Icon got in the way of an honest evaluation of Nolan Ryan the Player, but this harping on walks is a bit silly. Walks don't matter as much if you don't give up hits and strike people out.

Moses, Earl, Ryan, Biggio, Andre, Foster

I second this ranking. Arian Foster frankly isn't even in the discussion with the other players.

Where's tinman to remind us that Steve Patterson brought us Clutch City and should somehow be on this list?
