Your opinion about ssd's lasting longer is based on no moving parts, but that is a myth. Read this:

My son in-law came over one day while I was gone and installed a ssd drive to my slow ass booting computer with out telling me.Boy was i surprised when I booted up. It goes from cold start to ready to go in about 20 seconds. He did not tell me what it cost but I am very pleased with it.

I had thought all that hype about ssd was just a sales hype but I believe in them now.

I'm surprised in 2016 someone would build a computer (spending over 1k) and not include an SSD or 16gb of RAM.

If nothing more for being future-proofed as the OS's and apps become more power/RAM hungry over time.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. My daily use computer is a 2009 Macbook Pro 13in that I updated/maxed out in 2013 with 8gb of RAM and a 256gb SSD. The SSD was a game changer as everyone has said and that was on a laptop with 1st generation SATA (i.e. the slowest SATA).

I never said it was all hype. I said that for my needs it is unnecessary. I don't shut my computer down (and there is no reason to shut your computer down) I'm about to get real geeky here, but Intel a while back came out with Rapid Start Technology: I wonder if people who tout ssd's realize that intel solved their boot problem through the bios.

In a nutshell Rapid Start Technology will put your computer to sleep (with NO POWER CONSUMPTION ) and I can bring it back, in under 10 seconds with a swirl of my mouse. Faster than any ssd card.

Point 2: ssd cards are not more reliable than hdd drives. That's a myth. But they are way more expensive. I like having more storage.

The biggest point for ssd cards is that under load that they are going to blow an hdd out of the water, but since I never put my computer under that type of load, my computer is as fast as it is going to get. I won't get anymore snapper than what I already have.

Here is a link to Rapid Storage Technology: anybody want to race me with an ssd card? I'll use rapid storage. Let's see who wins.

So you bought an $800 monitor to use as a 32" TV and to have more "clarity" when you browse clutchfans?

Isn't that what you do when you buy a 4k monitor for gaming, or am I missing something?

Monitors are different than TVs because they emphasize input lag and response time which are essential for PC / gaming use, which is why they are more expensive than TVs.

If you are just streaming movies / media, you are paying a premium for features you are not using.

A smart 4k TV would have give you much better bang for your buck.

You do realize you can have both? SSD to power the OS and HDD for storage.
