pretty much all i read...love bios and history...don't have nearly the time to read these days though
Have been reading through the Repairman Jack series. I read The Tomb (which I liked but forgot about) several years ago and somehow fell back into the series. Almost through the main 15 books, just finished Ground Zero.
I just finished up Breakers - book 1 by Edward W. Robertson. I started the second and realized it was just another POV of the events from book one so I'm not sure I will continue reading.
Blood Song by Anthony Ryan. It has been VERY good. It is the first part in the Raven Song Trilogy which is completed and released. I'm told that the second and third installments are not as good but this is the first time in a long time I've read so much, so fast. Check it out this coming-of-age fantasy.
Good non-fiction nerd list here from Ars Technica: http://arstechnica.com/science/2016...orge-your-brain-over-the-holidays/?comments=1 And I'm not biased at all. But seriously, here are some highlights from her list. * I Contain Multitudes: The Microbes Within Us * Lab Girl * Venomous: How Earth's Deadliest Creatures Mastered Biochemistry * The End of Ownership: Personal Property in the Digital Economy * Welcome to the Universe Can vouch for these!
The Sparrow Children of God (sequel to The Sparrow) Doc (historial fiction about Doc Holliday) Author of all 3 - Mary Doria Russell
Very informative. This video is also really good but paints a more bleak picture on microbes and highly resistant strains of MRSA infection.
Also would like to throw in The Big Picture by Sean Carroll. I personally like him more than Neil deGrasse Tyson as he comes across less preachy in some respects when it comes to spreading science awareness. He too has a video that covers the gist of the content of his book.
A little bird told me there was a new bio about a German physicist, I'm waiting to unwrap it this weekend.
Finished The Heavenly Table by Donald Ray Pollack. Loved it. Rich characters, violent, and dirty. Maybe not quite as good as Knockemstiff but still great.
Aw yeah. Or Aw Ja. FlyerFanatic, the selfsame little bird would recommend that one from that blog list to you also.
