Gomez had, at least, 2 blunders in the field.... both led directly to runs.

Gomez did do a good job not swinging at the pitch that hit him. He didn't get caught stealing either, so that's a plus

Other than that, Dev could get major blame, but his play wasn't blooper-esk.

 

Last year marisnick had a nice WAR and it was not because of his offense

 

We can all b**** and moan all we want ! We can blame Hinch or this or that player but in the end you just have to look at 5-9 hitters batting averages, starting pitching especially from your top 2 pitchers and bone head plays running the bases and fielding ! All a recipe for a bad team so far !!!!!

 

Bat's been terrible but at some point you have to stop the bleeding.

 

This is not last year what does his WAR from last year have to do with this year?

And that WAR was built on a huge April where he had an OPS over 1.000

Jake is a bad baseball player right now and should be at AAA

So Gomez is accountable for a whole host of opponents runs and Jake gets criticized? Ok.

 

Yeah... pretty much sums it up. Turnarounds are always possible... but not if your supposed ace and half the lineup is suspect.

Inevitably, not all options for the future are going to be in-house.... but again, that's how you get stuck with potential Gomez'.

Bregman could be a possibility out there after super 2 passes
