[TMZ]James Harden went to the strip club at 1:45 AM after OT loss

It's not about defending him (if he doesn't, why should we? ha). There's just a whole lot of overreacting.

26 year olds with a lot of money will make "bad" decisions from time to time. Grown-ass people on message boards getting all twisted about it is something to me.

 

Harden is an abusing spouse to this franchise. He keeps beating us but we think we somehow deserve it.

 

The only D James Harden plays is apparently in the strip club, also it might be common for some NBA stars to hit the strip club but hardly ever do you hear about another player as much as Harden, especially when there's so many questions already about the level of commitment & issues with lack of energy/laziness and nonchalant attitude. He's perpetuating these attributes himself with his actions.

 

Harden can do what he wants because he knows he faces no repercussions

He knows he has Morey and this organization by the balls. They have put him so far up on a pedestal that he pretty much knows he can get away with anything on and off the court.

The losers here are the fans and other hardworking players like Dwight, Ariza, JET etc who give 100% and want to ring again (in the case of Trev and JET)

 

This is a shame. I mean, really...how much clubbing can one person do? I would have preferred the Rockets organization just fly the team back to Houston after the game. I'm cold blooded like that. That way, you can have a good practice here this afternoon and get ready for tomorrow's game. Just my thoughts.

 

I remember I said something about harden during the playoffs last year and most of you guys went nuts. Harden is in the clubs / strip clubs a lot. After wins. After losses. Before a big game of playoffs. Etc. this is how he is. Do I think it messes with his game? Yes. Game 3 vs the Warriors.

 

Johnny Manziel is 23 years old, plays football 1 day out the week. He went to a casino and Nike dropped him and so did his team. He needs help they say.

Actually his job is not like yours or mine - there isn't a concept of "own time" until after the season ends. Through the season you are on company time and representing a global brand not just for yourself but for the Rockets and your endorsers.

There isn't anything wrong necessarily going to a strip club to be honest - a lot of celebrities do it all the time, but you have to consider the time and place and situation. This is LA where everyone with a cell phone is going to get paid by sending anything and everything to TMZ that they feel is remotely celeb gossip. After a poor game and a tough loss seeing you at a strip club without teammates is not a good image to project. He needs to realize this -- or at the very least his agent needs to get in his ear.

Exactly - but it was late even for LA. They next game is on Wednesday so staying back and getting rest in a Hotel room and leaving in the morning would be better than flying out at midnight getting in at 5am Houston time and then trying to get home etc. A lot of these guys do have family in LA as well that they can spend time with. While the intentions is to allow the players some freedom I am sure its not so they can hit up the strip club.




Look it doesn't bother me he went to the strip club, but it does bother me he did it in this fashion. After another lackluster effort performance and a tough loss. Its one thing to do with after a good game and a W or even with teammates but this just doesnt look good on a player whose biggest flaw right now is his mental focus and effort. Makes me question where his head is. Now we cant expect every player to be like Kobe Bryant, but if we are going to expect Harden and if Harden expects to be a top 5 player in the league then he needs to act that way and conduct himself that way. Did we see TMZ videos last night of LeBron at the strip club? How about Curry celebrating the blowout win? While I am beyond 100% positive guys like Curry, LeBron, Durant etc are at the clubs and all you just dont see videos like this being put out on TMZ as often as it is with Harden. I mean if we have this many clips of when people do see him - how many times did we not see this?

Imagine guys like Thorton, Ariza, Brewer and especially Dwight seeing this after they busted their ass last night to see their leader at a strip club a few hours later.

 

I am in that boat too, he is not ever going to be a leader, or a guy who DIES to win.

The team would be better off getting quality pieces and building around Howard.

Let's get over this idea that James will mature soon. It's not happening here. He will force his way out after next season and Dwight will be long gone if Morey doesn't do something.

Money's only shot at fixing this is getting a new coach during All-Star weekend. That's the only long shot that might get Harden to wake the **** up. I personally don't see a coach Harden will respect enough to chance for unless Phil Jackson or Coach K walk through the that door.

 

And yet, less than 60 days ago, you started a thread telling us all that Dwight Howard was finished.

 

I believe he's plays FIFA, but he loves loose booty women too. Instagram models, escorts, and strippers. It is a different age with social media and cameras everywhere. Yeah, I do miss players who have that blue collar mentality and worked hard every night. I think it's a matter of time before he matures out of this, but it might take a couple playoff eliminations to kick in though.

I said he is not an elite player - and I still believe that, but I also think he plays harder than Harden, and I would not give Dwight a max deal.

Harden is the anchor around this team - a cloud of dust - just not a winner.
