Dang dude actually looks pretty skilled. That body needs work though. Not gonna cut it at this level. Maybe if a trade comes down we can free up a little space and give him a shot. If he were to put in the work Capela has he could be pretty interesting.

What happened this year that made this kid have such a large jump?
It's not like he was tearing up competition in college or previous d-league stint.
It's curious.

I strongly agree. I watched a Viper's game in person-- the famous one right after XMAS when Harrell got into the shoving match with Jent.
Putney was the star of the game, with Harrell a close second.

Putney is thin, but quick and athletic , seems to have a good feel about where to be on the floor and has a great touch, both from the three and also in drives/floaters to the basket. Very impressed and meant to post about him. One game and now this one, but he looks like a star. Future as a small forward who can block shots with his length and timing.

As an aside poor KD McDaniel looked lost and not impressive at all in a run and gun format that should be his forte. One game, but based on that I would be surprised if he ever amounts to much. Even his defense, aside from a couple of chase down blocks, looks out of sync and that horrible set shot.
