Caitlyn Jenner gets an ESPY and angers many

True Jenner is wealthy and has access to the best surgeons, cosmetologists and etc... That said this is a very big move for a very public figure and it just as likely could've been a move that led to ridicule and derision.

As I said before I don't know whether Jenner deserves the award more than other nominees and I don't take the ESPY's seriously enough to care. For a public figure though to change their gender and do so this publicly did have a certain amount of risk to it. It's not the same risk as throwing yourself on a grenade of course but this situation could've easily ended up going bad for him now her.

I'm pretty sure if this had happened 15 years ago the response would've been much more negative.

No, genders are grouped athletically due to biological similarities, not ex post facto identity. For the same reason youth sport records are not invalidated when the competitor becomes an adult.

 

Well, that and a man cannot actually become a woman even if they mutilate their genitals and get breast implants to make it sort of appear as if they are.
